French President Emmanuel Macron stated on Tuesday it was not his location to pass judgment on the choice by satirical publication Charlie Hebdo to re-publish animations of the Prophet Mohammad, stating France has liberty of expression.
But Macron, speaking on a see to Lebanon, stated it was incumbent on French residents to reveal civility and regard for each other, and prevent a “discussion of hate.”
The publication re-published the animations on the eve of a trial in Paris of supposed accomplices in a 2015 attack on the publication’s workplaces by Islamist terrorists shooters in which 12 individuals were eliminated.
