Andy Murray, 2012 United States Open champ, left this year’s competition after a straight-sets loss to 15th seed Felix Auger-Aliassime of Canada. Auger-Aliassime marched into 3rd round with a regular 6-2, 6-3, 6-4 win over the Briton at the Arthur Ashe Stadium. Murray returned from 2 sets down to win an awesome five-set match first-round match versus Japan’s 49th-ranked Yoshihito Nishioka on Tuesday. With his Candian challenger shooting on all cylinders, Murray stopped working duplicate the accomplishments of his first-round match.
Murray was playing in the songs at a Grand Slam for the very first time given that a first-round exit at the Australian Open in 2019.
