West Bengal Minister of State for Labour, Nirmal Maji was on Thursday hospitalised after he suffered a brain stroke, federal government sources stated.
The 59-year-old minister is going through treatment at the Bangur Institute of Neurosciences in the city.
Hospital sources stated his condition is steady and he might quickly need surgical treatment.
” A CT scan was done on the minister which discovered subdural hematoma. Currently his condition is steady. A group of physicians are monitoring him 24X7,” a senior physician stated.
Mr Maji represents Uluberia North constituency in the Assembly.
