As Indian Couple Faces Drug Expenses In Qatar, Makes an attempt To Carry Them Again

The Narcotics Management Bureau (NCB) is coordinating with the Ministry of Exterior Affairs (MEA) to carry again an Indian couple sentenced to 10 years imprisonment in Qatar on drug costs.

The event comes because the NCB investigation revealed that the couple- Mohammed Shareeq Qureshi and his spouse Oniba Kauser Shakeel Ahmed- didn’t have information about medicine of their baggage.

“On September 27, 2019, Oniba’s father Shakeel Ahmed Qureshi gave a grievance alleging that his daughter and son-in-law have been deceived by a lady Tabassum Riyaz Qureshi, the aunt of Mohammed Shareeq Qureshi and her affiliate Nizam Kara within the garb of a honeymoon bundle to Qatar,” NCB stated.

NCB stated that the couple was arrested at Hamad Worldwide Airport, Doha, Qatar on July 6, 2019, by drug enforcement companies who recovered 4.1 kilograms of Cannabis hid within the baggage luggage offered by Tabassum and Nizam Kara.

In accordance with the NCB, on October 14, 2020, Nizam Kara admitted that Mohammad Shareeq and Oniba Kauser Shakeel Ahmed have been despatched to Qatar by him and his affiliate Tabassum.
